The never ending cold

I've had a cold now for 11 days and I'm feeling miserable!

Still got to go to work, still got to do school holiday activities and parent etc but feeling totally exhausted.

Yes I know there are many worse things.

I just can't recall ever having a cold last so long. Usually only really bad for a couple of days. Friend suggested maybe it's hay fever but it's not, I have got a shitty cough too.

Why won't it go away? Could it be the weather?

I get ya. The common cold can last up to 14 days. It's only after that the GPS will start looking for something else. That aside it 8s horrible, I had a really bad cold once that lasted just short of two weeks. Like you said it was exhausting. Lemsip became my new best friend and I refused to go anywhere, or do anything without at least three sachets in my bag Blush

However it did eventually pass and fingers crossed I've never had it that bad again. Hold in there, remember your doing brilliantly, and allow yourself to to have a wallow whenever you get a minute Wink xx

Are you absolutely sure it's not hayfever? Hayfever can cause bad sneezes, headaches, coughs, sticky, tickly sore throat, itchy red eyes and constant streaming nose. I put up with it for ages in March then realised it wasn't a cold and a triple whammy of hay fever sparys, tablets and eye drops really helped.

@MinaPaws I'm 44 can hayfever suddenly start at this age?

Tempted to try some antihistamine and see if anything improves.

@Jenwen22 I appreciate the permission to wallow, DH never gives me that! Smile

Yes it can. Mine started in my early fifties. It has got worse and I now need an inhaler for it. Worth checking.
