Sertraline withdrawal troubles

I'm after a bit of advice please. My doc put me on rampril for high blood pressure and 100mg sertraline to combat fatigue symptoms as I have cfs brought on by meds. I have been on it before so assumed it would be ok.

However my bp monitor has been showing an irregular heartbeat and with a family history of heart issues the doc told me to stop all meds straight away. I did query going cold turkey but he said to just stop it all.

And as you can guess I've been feeling really unwell. Can't focus, brain zaps etc ugh horrid. I stopped last Monday and cuz I was so bad took a sertraline 50mg this Sunday to see if it would help. I also googled and read that a one off fluoxetine can help as it's a slower release so I took 20mg yesterday.

I eventually got through to a different doc who said to take 50mg of sertraline for 7 days and should not have gone cold turkey. However I've taken it the morning and feel worse again.

I've got more tests next week to see what's going on with my heart but I just feel like I've had enough. This is the tip of the iceberg of my troubles with meds too.

Anyone been through sudden withdrawal? Last time I came off very slowly so was surprised.

Thanks if you managed to read through all that Blush

Yes I'm trying to come of duloxetine which is very similar. I started taking it for a non mental health physical problem. Cold turkey was horrific - brain zaps, extreme dizziness, suicidal feelings. It got so bad I had to go back on.
I've read around the internet and the best way is to do it extremely gradually which I have begun to do over a period of 6 months.
Good luck with it!! Flowers

Thanks for replying. The withdrawal is horrible isn't it. Hope you manage ok.

I was just so surprised he said stop completely straight away. I don't like the sound of some of the long term side effects you can get from cold turkey either. I wish I checked earlier but I was feeling so shitty.

Good luck to youCakeThanks
