Hi I wanted to ask a question. As neurotic as it sounds I’d really appreciate some experienced or helpful answers. I had a what I think definitely was a new mole on my nose which the day I found didn’t like the look of being on the side so I scraped and picked at it like a spot until it formed a wound and then it all fell off a few days later. Now there’s just some scarring but nothing else. The GP said once it’s healed if there’s normal skin there’s nothing to worry about. However I read that you can scratch off a skin cancer and leave it’s cells in the bottom layer which can eventually grow and spread. Am I being irrational? These were good websites by real doctors though a lot of them say it would have to be visible and grow back first. I can’t seem to grab the logic or then know if I have a real concern, the Gp didn’t seem bothered when I asked. I’m watching it now closely if there’s any change I’ll go back. Please help I’m finding it hard to see clearly here. I know I have health anxiety but sometimes I don’t want that to cloud a real question. Smilexxx

There could be a few cells still there and the mole could grow back BUT... you'd see it. Also if it grows back that doesn't mean it's a bad one.

I've just had a mole removed. The tests showed it was benign but that there was also some cells in the skin around it (didn't surprise me, it was bloody massive). The doctor said because of this there's a chance it could grow back. Benign but could still make a reappearance.

They don't grow and spread without you knowing about it. Keep an eye on it, if it comes back get it checked, if it doesn't don't worry about it.

WiltedDaffs I really appreciate you replying, my threads are usually always not responded to , maybe because they’re daft ? Anyway what you said made a lot of sense, explained it very well too. Thanks so much. If I didn’t read online I would never even question it. Sadly dr google has lots of scary articles that I can’t seem to shake. I know deep down I’m being silly but no one talks about this stuff and I wouldn’t ask any friends about this Incase they think I’m a nutter Flowers
