Really stupid question

Hi everyone,

I have been having trouble with heart palpitations for about 2 months, the doctor listened, said there nothing to worry about and gave me propranolol. I then developed a crackle in my chest. I only hear it after I've been laying down for a while, and it's only the first deep breath I can hear it on, after that it's fine. The doctor listened to my chest and lungs and said he is 100% sure there is nothing wrong, but I'm still worried. I was feeling my throat the other day and discovered that if i put pressure at the base of my throat and breath, it sounds really loud and raspy, like I have congestion. Is this normal for when I press my throat or something to be worried about? I've been getting chest pain too but that's nothing new to me due to anxiety. I have health anxiety and am worrying if the doctor missed something or if there's something he could have missed just by listening to me chest and lungs. Stupid question I know, sorry!

See another doctor.

I've seen two doctors, one when i just had heart palpitations and another when I started getting the crackle.

It's fine! I had this, I rang the doc in hysterics and made them ring me back. You're hearing phlegm - which is good news, we all need it to oil the tubes.

You can't hear real heart problems by the way. Do yourself a favour and do some deep breathing - listen all you like to the sound of your breath, it's all ok.

@monkeymonkeyswinginginthetree if you press against your 'throat' you're actually pressing against your trachea (breathing tube) which is in front of your throat. This will automatically alter your breath sounds.
Have you tried mindfulness to help with your health anxiety? Thanks
