Can AD's make you tired?

I just started a larger dose of AD'S due to PND and they seem to have made me soooo tired! Stopped taking them before the weekend and I'm a lot better. But I really need to keep taking them. Is it worth asking my doctor for a different 'type' to see if this helps? Or is it just coinsidence and not the AD's at all?

Yes, one side effect of a lot of ADs is that they can make you drowsy. Can you take it at night, before you go to bed?

Sometimes it wears off after a couple of weeks and you should feel ok. I always take mine at night as I know they make me sleepy (which is one of the reasons for taking them)

Hope you feel better soon

lots of people find that antidepressant especially in early days make them exhausted, as does depression also. Usually it settels down as most adverse effects seem to. Sometimes altering the times some ad are taken can help- or alternatively changing ad- I presume you've started one of the SSRI drugs like Prozac or Lustral or citalopram?

Doh. Didn't think about taking it before I went to bed! I'm so dozy sometimes!!!

lol haribo!

I am currently on 2 ADS (I am coming off 1 and starting a new one gradually) so in the morning, I take the one that keeps me awake and at night I take the one that makes me sleep. Obvious really, isn't it? But I had to get the doctor to tell me that - I'd never have thought of it myself!

Do bear with it though - I hope you feel like your old self very soon.
