Adrenal tumor/hyperandrogenism HELP or advice

Hi All,

I recently had bloods done for suspected PCOS but after being given my results my androstenedione seems much higher than most PCOS patients (14.1 nmol/L - 406 ng/ml). Also testosterone is (2.8 nmol/L 80 ng/ml).

I'm in total limbo and worrying that it could be a more serious issue. Does anybody have any experience of an adrenal tumor or hypoandrogenism? I need an ultrasound done but the appointment is next week. They are also saying I need to wait until my menstrual cycle starts again for more bloods but who knows when that could be as I'm on CD 47 currently. I'm just so worried and it is hard to get a docs app quickly. I had seen a specialist gynaecologist a couple of weeks ago but that was before my blood results were in so no conclusion then.

I do have a lot of symptoms that point to a potential androgen problem. The thing that makes me worry is that I have had two completely clear pelvic ultrasounds in the past 4 years and if it actually was PCOS then surely I would have had cysts?

I know the only way I'll know is getting an answer from a medical professional but I know something is wrong and I haven't been taken seriously for a long time until these results have shown up.

Even a hand hold or anyone who has experience of these kind of androgen levels? I'm 25 yrs old, non smoker, rarely drink etc. Have started gaining weight as well as excess hair and acne.

I was recently told (by clinical lead) you can have PCOS in the abscence of cysts... they've done full bloods on me due to my symptoms , but always have normal ultrasounds. So it might still be PCOS ?
