DH sleep disturbances need solution

DH has a lot of sleep disturbances & at times will flail in the bed hitting and kicking me. It doesn’t happen all the time maybe once a week. In general he acts like he has the bed to himself & I have to frequently ask him to move/ turn over etc so that I can sleep without him snoring in my face/ on my pillow. He also snores a lot. I just woke up at 5am to a massive kick in the shins he was genuinely asleep. I will often get a dig in the back etc. the only good sleep I get is when he’s not in the bed & even then I have an ear out for when he comes up & I have to lie on the edge. Sometimes I put a pillow between us when he’s “flaily” but like this morning I still get kicked.
The problem is we have no spare bedroom (pre kids the solution was go and sleep elsewhere / asl him to). I don’t like sleeping on the couch. He does the odd time. He will not go to a doctor / sleep clinic so no point (20+ years of trying). We have a small enough double bedroom but I am seriously tempted to try to squeeze in a single bed to just move to. I work full time so if I can’t sleep it’s an issue. I would dearly love my own room and bed but I’m sure it would have marital consequences. We’re also trying to pay off debt so things like new beds are way out of our budget.

Any suggestions ?!

I'm not sure about the flailing (sorry!)

But as far as the snoring goes, it CAN be fixed. My DH had the same problem. You just need to work out what type of snorer he is - nasal or throat snorer. If he's breathing through his mouth, he's probably a nasal snorer. Nasal strips/spray will sort it. If it's really loud snoring from the throat, you need a product for that type - a throat spray, or oral strips.

My DH is a throat snorer, and for a long time he used the Snoreeze Throat Spray which worked wonders (picked it up in Boots). But then it turned out he had mild sleep apnoea, which means his airway was closing while he was asleep, and he got an oral device instead. Again - can't stress how great this device is! This was another Snoreeze product (not trying to plug them I swear haha Grin) and it's like a mouthguard DH wears at night. I don't hear a peep out of him until morning, and I swear it's saved our marriage.

Hope this has been kind of helpful re snoring! Good luck with the rest of it - hopefully another poster can help with the flailing problem!
