dd 16months being sick - should i continue bf?

dd was sick in the night a few times between 3-6am.
i gave her a bf at 10 and a drop of water at 12, then she had a little sick again around 1pm.
i gave her another bf at 4pm and she had another little sick at 5.30pm.
I'm sure i've read on here that bf is so gentle and easy to absorb that it's ok to give even when vomitting; so...
as bedtime approaches, should i give her another bf or water or what???

BF I believe is best. I think there was another thread on this recently

tortoiseSHELL · 27/05/2007 20:17

Yes, best thing for them.

StinkyPete · 27/05/2007 20:20

even if she continues to sick it back after an hour or so?

Even then, Stinky. It's so easily digested, they're going to get good from it even within the hour.

DumbledoresGirl · 27/05/2007 20:22

If the milk is staying down for an hour or so, she will be absorbing quite a lot of it in that time so it will definitely be doing her some good. You do say that she is only a little sick each time? She is not bringing up the whole feed?

mears · 27/05/2007 20:22

Yes - continue to B/F her. If she has a bug, your milk will contain the antibodies she needs to fight it.

brill, thanks ladies. i thought that was the case, but dh was doubting and getting me to doubt the power of the bf!!!
yes, she's only sicking a little back, so will defo be getting some goodness.
at 16months, this is only the second time she's ever been sick - so it's a bit new for me.

mears - i remember now reading some where that mum's body can tell what's wrong and adjust milk to what baby needs. it's blinking magic isn't it!!
