Advice on ds2 - diarrhoea and losing weight

Any advice? Ds2 (12 months) had his Hib booster and Men C booster on Wed, when dd also had a tummy upset - diarrhoea. He was then sick on Thursday night, and has had diarrhoea since Friday. Kept him on b/milk and dry toast on Friday/Saturday, he's eaten more today and drunk cows milk as well as b/milk (I know that's supposed to be not good, but was worried about fluid levels). Poos are still very loose, and typically it's Bank Holiday weekend. If he's no better will take to GP on Tuesday, but he is looking thin (and there isn't that much of him to start with) - what's the best thing to do? Lay off the milk? Feed him up?

He seems quite chirpy - a little bit 'small' iykwim - would rather sit on my lap than crawl around.

Liquids the most important IMO I would lay off milk ( cows) and opt for water , sugar and water , diluted juice ( add a pinch of salt if you feel he is dehydrated), grated / pureed apple. Toast/ dry biscuits and rice .
My dd sort of regulated herself regarding food but I had to insist on the liquids.
Hope feeling better soon . My dd was very floppy for a few days.

when mine had it ecently i looked on nhs direct who recommended lots of carbohydrates, which surprised me, did not look for 12 month old though.. presume it isthe same.

I'll give him a day off dairy (he will be mad with me though ), and stick to toast and bland food then, and if no better go to GP. THanks Rosa and ebs! I'm not sure if it's a bug, or the jab, or a combination of the two. He did have a bit of a temp Fri night, so it could be the jab as well.

still suffering ? Keeping liquids in ?

I don't really know how to describe him this evening - he had one explosive nappy this morning, and then no more poos today, which is good - yesterday and the day before was every half hour or so. He's eaten well today, chicken, potato, toast etc, and drunk plenty of water/ribena. He still seems really little - seems thin, and big eyed, and I think he's lost a significant amount of weight from the look and feel of him, but I hope he's on the mend.

IMO don't overload his tum , let it get back to normal but it sounds good if he has managed to keep everything in .. Lets hope he is on the mend and I hope he gets his colour back soon.
