Can tiredness make you physically sick?

We moved house over the weekend and I have barely slept more than a few hours a night. I’m full of cold (DS had it last week and it made him vomit a couple of times)
I didn’t get to sleep last night cos of the cold and things on my mind until about 4am and then DS was up at 6am.
I made his bottle and then felt very sweaty and started retching violently for about 2-3 hours on and off.
Do you think it’s because I am so exhausted? I have a phobia of being sick Sad

I found that it can sometimes make me feel really sick. When my girl was only sleeping for 2 or 3 hour blocks when she was 5 months old.

It can certainly make me feel very nauseous. So can a heavy cold though, occasionally a bad one will make me throw up all the mucus and catarrh I've swallowed and while it's really slimy gross when it's happening I suddenly feel a million miles better afterwards.

Flowers for you op and try to get some rest. It sounds like you have a lot on your plate

Lmj25 · 10/07/2018 22:14

How are you now op?

nocoolnamesleft · 10/07/2018 22:33

It can...but that might not be why you were. I tend to find that by 48 hours of no sleep I feel light headed and nauseated, by 72 hours add in temperature control going a bit screwy and a chance of keeling over or throwing up. Much longer than that...and I'm not in good enough condition to remember all the details! Mind you, that's on no sleep. You're describing at least a little sleep, so unusual to be quite so affected. I think the cold is at least partially implicated - maybe the combination.

Its more likely to be a bug, I would've thought.

GourmetGold · 14/07/2018 20:14

Sleep is really important for your the health of your immune system, so not having enough sleep means you're more likely to catch a bug.. might be that?

Redteapot67 · 14/07/2018 22:51

Yes - I’ve been sick a few times through exhaustion/lack of sleep

gandalf456 · 15/07/2018 23:21

Yeah, I've not been physically sick but had the OMG, I am gonna throw up feeling thru tiredness.
