In a busy reception and face planted into the floor - which hurt...

I’ve never fainted before - should I be worried?

Possibly, but is there a simple explanation? We're you hot dehydrated or ill?

Do you have any reason to feel faint? Too tired, exhausted, hungry, too hot, nervous, overwhelmed, etc?

If you can't think of any reason, I would see GP.

Had you eaten? How hot was it? Were you dehydrated? Any other medical issues?

I fainted in the shower once - strong smell of a shower gel made me pass out!

Next, I broke my arm, but not through pain but because I was told I couldn't sit a piano exam (although I did!).

Another time in my kitchen, later the same day in my bathroom and the next day in Tesco - those three were linked to lack of food then eating high sugar foods so my blood sugars were going insane and I kept keeling over.

Nearly passed out a few times with vertigo (inner ear, not heights).

There's usually a reason. Any for you?

Most likely can be heat exhaustion at the moment. You can still get it even if you are inside, not under direct sun. Body can't regulate the temperature sometimes.

It’s hot. One of my kids fainted on the tube this morning. He’s fine.

I keep feeling faint as well....was wondering why...horrible feeling

user789653241 · 04/07/2018 21:08

If you fainted in front of the reception and they didn't call ambulance, you must have came around quick enough.
It's all up to you. If you really have no reason to faint, it maybe the sign of some kind of illness. Only you can know for sure.
I sometimes faint when I'm having period. But I know why. So I don't go see a doctor. But If I fainted in the winter when I am pretty healthy and had enough sleep and food, I will.

Chelsea26 · 04/07/2018 22:05

Thanks all - it could have been hunger I suppose - I didn’t have dinner or breakfast but that’s not that unusual for me...

I felt absolutely fine beforehand so no warning signs or anything and I sort of feel ok now apart from the fat lip and grazes

also think a tooth might be wobbly...

Guess I’ll see how I am in the morning and obviously if it happens again I’ll go to the docs

I think if you are worried, you should go see a doctor, to be safe. If you get checked out, you would feel better. To faint out of nowhere can be a really scary experience, especially if it was your first time.

But faint I experience normally has no warning signs, feel nothing wrong, then feel weird suddenly.
And I have treated a lot of people who have fainted in the past due to my job, had been totally acting normal until they fainted, the moment they say they don't feel well, collapsed suddenly without warning.
