Got a lump on my leg, really itchy and uncomfortable, so doc says he will take it off himself next week. I don't really feel comfortable about this, as I guess i would have expected it to be done at hosp, and you don't usually associate the GP's can stitch! Anyone else had one done this way?

I've had moles removed by my GP.

I've had a mole removed by GP too. Was fine

Not a lump, but two big moles on my back. The GP did a local anaesthetic and took them off in surgery, then did all the stitching. The scars are still there, and aren't the prettiest things, but the moles were big, and he had to take them out right down through all the layers of skin (sorry if tmi!). I doubt if a hospital would have managed it any better. I think it's quite common for GPs to have a minor surgeries clinic.

I had an angioma removed from my forehead by my GP a couple of months ago. Was fine and apart from the sting of the local was quick and painless.

I had a cyst taken out of my back by one of the GPs at my surgery. The scar is exactly the same size as the thing he drew on my back to demonstrate what size it would be! Much better than hospital IMO ... free parking!
