Nervous about Gynae appointment next week - thickened womb lining

Just posting to see if others have had similar experience.

I'm 48. Blood tests say not perimenopausal but I've missed quite a lot of periods over last 3 years and tend to be very heavy when I have them.

Sent for a scan at the start of this year after bleeding for 5 weeks. No cysts /fibroids or polyps but endometrial lining was 'thickened' at 15mm.

I had only stopped bleeding a week earlier after taking norethisterone. (So lining should have been thin ??)

I did start a new period the day after the scan (or break through from stopping the noresthisterone) but as it was such a short time since the earlier bleed it doesn't seem great that the lining had thickened so much (?)

(A scan a year earlier had shown the lining to be think and normal.)

Google obviously throws up bad news...

Sorry typo : scan year earlier had shown womb lining to be thin and normal
(Although it did say bulky endometrium 'which could signify early fibroids or adenomyosis.)

I WILL get this right in a minute Hmm

Dec16 scan showed:
Bulky uterus
Endometrium is heterogeneous and may represent either adenomyosis or early fibroid changes.
Endometrium is thin and normal for day 6.

(I wasn't called back for any follow up after that scan so just assumed all ok.)

Keep calm. Loads of things can cause excessive bleeding including stress and just straightforward hormone imbalance.

I had 2 years of constant bleeding on and off. Was scanned with a thick womb lining showing. Nothing else found. After getting divorced I found myself with less stress in my life and it magically disappeared.

You can help yourself with supplements such as magnesium and a vitamin b complex whilst waiting for the formal diagnosis.

Interesting about the stress karigan.

My lovely DH sadly now has a life limiting illness which has obviously been very difficult so that may have had an impact.

(I think it's added to my anxiety generally too because his diagnosis was slow which affected the outcome.)

I'm now thinking about other stuff (sorry TMI Blushbut unpleasant pink / brown discharge for a few days st the end of each period) but I know I just need to wait for the appointment,

Thanks for replying and glad all was ok with you.
