Anyone had a broken nose? How did they fix it?

Hiya guys. So on Sunday my little one decided to headbut me coincidently right in the nose. Brought forth the blood fountain - carpets ruined, blouse and baby's dress soaked. Anyway, went to a&e who confirmed break, didn't even need an X-ray as my nose was deformed and one nostrils airway is blocked. ENT are going to ring me this week once the swelling goes down and book me in to go and get it reset - my nose is more or less back to its normal shape just leaning to the side a tiny bit but you'd have to be looking for it, however airway is still blocked and can feel cracking when I touch it. Has anyone has experience of having their nose reset? Was it an operation you had to be put asleep for or do they literally just snap it back while you're awake? Stories would be appreciated!
Thanks 😃

Yes DS. Happened first year of Uni at Rugby. I got there for his outpatients apt give days later. When I saw hkm I almost had kittens - nose was halfway across his face (that may be an exaggeration).

Got to outpatients, his airways were OK (not perfect). Lovely registrar said You can have surgery Monday or I can have a go now under local. DS asked if he'd be om to go clubbing that night if he had a local. Registrar nodded.

Injected each side of DS's nose. Got the heel of his hand on each side and yanked. The crunch was audible. DS said great, didn't feel it. His nose went white, then blue. He got up after five mins and the room swam. Had another quick lie down. Reg a very nice and polite young man.

10 mins later he wolfed a foot long baguette and caramel latte and I drove him back to Hall. His nose was straighter than it had been since the last rugy injury and he said the wind was whistling up it.

He had a kip, joined me for dinner at 7pm and wolfed a huge steak and all the works. Then went clubbing.

Yes, didn't go to the hospital or anything and 40 years later still have a deviated septum and nostril and sinus problems. It's worth dealing with it now OP, I wish I had.
