Warning, gross pics of rash in my mouth

Hello, I wonder if anyone has any knowledge about what this could be in my mouth. I've woke up with white rough patches in the same places inside my mouth. I've had a host of health issues lately and this to me makes me think of mouth cancer straight away. I know you can't diagnose, but if anyone has any ideas? I'm getting in a right state here. I'm fed up of always being ill :(

Oh you poor thing. I would have thought thrush rather than mouth cancer, maybe book an appointment with your GP or ask a pharmacist. I’m so sorry things are tough. Flowers

Prob oral thrush isn’t that a white rash? If you’ve been ill lately or on anti Bs that can cause it I think??? Don’t panic - go to a pharmacy for some advice Flowers

My grandson has just got over "Hand, Foot And Mouth" which are blisters in the mouth and back of the throat. This is no way to be confused with "foot and mouth" He caught it at nursery and apparently it's doing the rounds and highly contagious. It's not dangerous but you do feel like crap for a week to ten days. But please do not take mine, or anyone else's advice on here as we're not doctors, and even if we were you could only give a proper diagnosis face to face. If I was you and you're worried I'd go to an NHS Walk-In centre or contact your out of hours GP, hope you feel better soon.

I'd suspect thrush. Have you been using inhalers? Or had a cold/hay-fever that's had you breathing through mouth rather than nose? I think both can trigger thrush - though I'm sure other stuff can too.

Pharmacist would give you daktarin or a mouthwash, but in my experience they are not great and you'd be better to either wait it out or get a canestan tablet (I think generic name is flucanazole).

waffledoggy · 17/06/2018 09:26

Thank you for advice. I have been using nasal inhalers for hay fever. I can see blisters, except there is one small white lump. When I look at pics of thrush it doesn't look right. The skin hasn't got a coating, the whiteness is the skin that has changed, it is loose and can been split.

I meant I can't see blisters

In the UK Fluconazole is only licensed for the treatment of vaginal thrush. You are best of seeing a doc/prescribing nurse -

a. to check it is oral thrush
b. to be prescribed something that will treat it. (Nystatin)

Daktarin oral gel is the only thing licensed for over the counter sale for oral thrush - in the UK - works for some people, but you need to use it EXACTLY as it says on the box.

I will try and get in the doctors. I find it so stressful as I've been there a lot lately. I've been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, had neck pains for weeks and my face is numb, had shingles, ibs issues, all in the last couple of months. I know I have to go though.

Wow you've really been through the mill.

Maybe try to book a double appointment to go through everything with the GP? I'm not surprised you are stressed out. I hope you start to feel better soon.

mrsreynolds · 17/06/2018 17:04

If you are run down Google "primary hepatic gingivostomatitis"
Is it painful?
I'd it's that you need anti virals
Good luck x

waffledoggy · 17/06/2018 17:56

Thank you, I've googled it and I'm not sure it's that, it isn't painful. It feels very rough and it's a layer of the skin has become detached, it's now splitting showing the skin underneath. To add to my day, my 6yr old now looks like she has chickenpox, she's already had it. I wonder if I gave her it with the shingles I had 😔

can't see your picture, but have you considered measles? especially if your child is also spotty

Magicpaintbrush · 17/06/2018 20:45

Might it be oral lichen planus?

Shampaincharly · 17/06/2018 20:57

You may be better seeing your dentist.
It could be a type of thrush, it may be you have been grinding your teeth.
They can refer you on if needed.

sproutsandparsnips · 17/06/2018 21:28

I second both the dentist and it possibly being lichen planus.
Also it is unlikely (but not impossible ) for your daughter to have chicken pox again, and if she was to have caught it from your shingles she would have to have been in contact with the lesions themselves.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 17/06/2018 21:31

Darling, fibromyalgia and thrush of the mouth (and elsewhere) go together like fish and chips.

See your GP but please invest in some acidophilus to get your gut heath balanced to avoid this kind of thing in future

waffledoggy · 17/06/2018 22:14

Well I was going to be going to the gp tomorrow for me, however I need to prioritise my daughters appt now. It very much looks like chicken pox for her. Itchy blisters on trunk, now spreading. She has an event at the weekend she has trained a long time for and will be v upset to miss it.
I'm going to try and still get in for myself, but it's not hopeful.
I will look at all the suggestions thank you.
Regarding the fibromyalgia, I'm learning so much about it, it seems to account for many symptoms. I do want to start a supplement routine, including acidophilus. I have been breastfeeding a long time and will be stopping soon so I'll be free to get on stronger supplements and also medications I have not been able to take.
