Can anyone share their gallbladder stories with me?

Hi all. I was in hospital recently with suspected pre eclampsia, but turns out it's more likely to be a gallbladder issue. Very relieved, but they didn't take the time to investigate simply because I'm pregnant and the only treatment is surgery. My argument was that even if they would not operate, they should still determine the root cause of the problem.

Anyway... now I've established that this isn't going to happen, can anyone share their gallbladder problems with me? What does a gallbladder attack feel like? Is it normal to have a sharp pain that takes your breath away when you press your gallbladder site even if it doesn't hurt without touching it? I'm worried it's not my gallbladder and there's something else wrong with me but they're just not willing to investigate?

Any advice/tips/personal stories would be extremely helpful!

Thank you.

I had a couple without realising what they were; after the 3rd one I had it taken out. I honestly wondered if I was in labour without knowing I was pregnant, it felt very similar.

gallbladder attacks were one of the worst pains I've ever had. I was in agony lying on the floor, pain in my centre chest. Usually I would become intensely hot, dripping sweat and vomiting. The pain usually eased up after I'd been sick. I had it removed! I got gallstones while pregnant. Didn't start having the bad attacks till after I'd had baby though.

Pregnancy often precipitated and or exacerbates gall bladder problems. The classic thing a Dr will do is push on the area and one generally will go through the ceiling so what you describe sounds very much like gall bladder.

What you can do is reduce the amount of fat in your diet as it's a trigger and get yourself on the list to get it out asap as soon as you've had your baby.

I had horrendous pain once during my pregnancy and several rides in an ambulance with severe pain until it was removed.
