Ear wax removal

I, like my dad before me, have to have my ears syringed on a pretty regular basis, say once a year or so. My surgery have stopped offering this service.

We have an audiologist/hearing centre in town, but it's £50+ a time. The last few times I needed it done I had a job and could afford it, but I lost my job some months ago, haven't found another yet, and am ansolutely skint. On top of that, dh's work is drying up (musician) and he is not bringing much in either.

I can barely hear a thing now, both ears have gone! My right has been useless for ages, and I managed with just the left but that's gone now too.

I can't go to a&e as it's not an emergency, life threatening or even particularly important. But it's hellishly horrid not being able to hear, and I have an interview thing coming up and it'll be ghastly if I have to stick my hand behind my ear and ask them to repeat themselves all the time.

What can I do? Is it reasonable for the nhs to withdraw this service?

That is terrible,i am having problems with ear wax too, and cant hear a thing out of my right ear,
I am having trouble getting my blocked ear clear, and my Dr wont do anything until the wax has softened more, been back 3 times, and have to put Otex in for another 2 weeks
The reason they wont syringe yet is apparently because 2 people at my surgery have ended up with perforated ear drums, and in hospital
I wonder if that is why your surgery has stopped it,it can be dangerous to syringe ears with hard wax,so probably covering themselves
