Facial hair

I'm so embarrassed and I don't know what of anything I can do. About a year ago I got a whisker on my chin, I plucked it and thought no more about it. Since then I'm getting more and more facial hair, it's on my forehead, my chin and down my neck. I'm so self conscious and it's really getting me down. I've also started to get hairs on my boobs. Is this just a normal thing? I'm 32. None of my friends have mentioned it happening to them even when I've tried to make light of it and pretend it doesn't bother me.

This is more than likely hormone related. Have you ever been tested for PCOS? As this is one of the symptoms.

Sorry, meant to add, how is your skin, your weight, did the hairs seem to start suddenly recently? Anything that may have caused hormonal changes?

Book your go and ask for blood test to check hormones as pp said

Could be PCOS, could be hypothyroidism, either way get checked. In the meantime u can slow down growth by exercising, going low carb, reducing sugar and drinking spearmint tea. Good luck.

Thank you for your replies. I am very overweight, I need to lose about 4st. I've never been tested, I'll make an appointment with my gp. I just wasn't sure if I would be wasting their time.

I had exactly this...it started when I was 29. I have polycystic ovaries but apparently normal hormone levels. I was a very normal weight at the time this started. I tried a few things to get rid of it but in the end I decided to pay for laser myself. I managed to get a good deal with a reputable company for a course of 6 treatments. I noticed a massive difference after the first treatment. Most of it hasn't grown back but I do get a few and so I have a top up treatment every 8 months or so. It is uncomfortable...like repeated flicks with an elastic band but it is quick so bearable. It was about £280 for the 6 treatments. I would definitely recommend for a permanent solution.

Thank you I'll have a look into that after I see the Dr
