Can anyone offer any suggestions? Sick of living like this

Hello all, apologies for the somewhat dramatic title but I really am fed up of my general health.

I live exhausted, as in, sleeping a minimum of 8 hours each night and still waking up tired. I fight to keep myself awake during the day, after lunch is particularly bad. My mind can be foggy and I find it hard to concentrate. If I were to lie down, I will fall into a deep sleep very very quickly!

I have daily diarrhoea, 30mins - 1hr after eating dinner. It’s urgent, foul and full of mucus (sorry for TMI). Although DH and I ‘make light’ of it, it’s not pleasant and stops us enjoying a meal out together as I have to be close to a toilet.

Other ‘symptoms’ include headaches, recurrent illnesses (tonsillitis several times a year, sinusitis, colds) and dizziness.

I’ve recently had blood tests for coeliac, came back negative. Have been diagnosed with folate deficiency but iron levels and b12 normal. Only other level that was perhaps unusual was my erythrocyte sedimentation rate which is 12 (Range 1-12 mm/h). I am taking folic acid.

It’s really wearing me down, I work full time and have a toddler, I really need my health to improve but I don’t know where to start or what to do. GP isn’t particularly helpful, just advises that bloods are ‘normal’. How would low folate levels usually present?

Can anyone offer any suggestion?

I would cut out dairy and see what happens.

the mucus thing can also be caused by problems with your liver and pancreas. Unless you can identify a trigger easily don't mess with your diet as you could still end up eating the trigger and not other foods that make a balanced diet

See a GP as soon as possible as the cause could be anything from a food intolerance to serious illness

Got to test for irritable bowel disease. It’s weirdly reassuring to hear that this isn’t normal. I don’t want to make a fuss over nothing, or appear to be a hypochondriac so feel quite embarrassed with it all!

Forgot to add, the folic acid was prescribed by the GP, 5mg daily
