A big spot appeared on my cheek two weeks ago. I have acne but I never get big ones on my cheek. It has changed to this now. It is squishy and feels like an empty sac but it is very raised.

I went to the chemist today and they said if it doesn't improve in 2 days I need to see my GP. It's redder this evening I'm s7re.

I'm hoping someone else has had a spot change like this to reassure me a little.

I wouldn’t pull it/pop it. I tried to do that with my daughters - not a good idea.

CurbsideProphet · 07/06/2018 08:26

I would probably put a hot compress on to see if that encourages it to open and let out whatever is inside!

Regarding Roaccutane: I took it in my mid 20s and took less than a quarter of the normal daily dose. That meant I was taking it for ages, but I didn't feel any of the recorded side effects. Might be an option for you?

Sallystyle · 07/06/2018 08:35

That sounds like a good idea Curbside I will definitely ask my derm about that.

I will get a hot compress. I hate walking around with this on my face. Make up hides the redness but makes it even more noticeable in some ways as it just cracks around it.

I have although it's totally in remission, papulopustular Rosacea and I had lesions like that. I did go the isotretinoin route and it cleared the lot.

Sallystyle · 07/06/2018 14:01

That's good Slutty.

Good news, the thing is leaking blood. I assume that is good news! There is a lot of it.

Wow. Glad the hot compress worked. And I am in awe of your restraint!

CoffeeIsNotEnough · 07/06/2018 15:26

Hope it calms down after that!

Sallystyle · 07/06/2018 16:16

The restraint is only due to trying not to scar my skin any more. I have quite a few scars in my hair line and on my chin from cystic spots.

See, DH scarred when he didn't drain them. No scars on his face where he sorted them out, loads on his back. When they heal over without draining, they leave a scar.

But that is just him- I don't know about anyone else's!

SluttyButty · 07/06/2018 16:48

Mine leaked blood mixed with disgusting looking stuff when I drained them,. The only scar I have is from the biopsy they did. My face was covered.

TammySwansonTwo · 07/06/2018 17:28

Eek, sounds nasty, but good that it’s draining I suppose?

goldangel · 07/06/2018 17:48

Hi OP

Hope your spot is nothing sinister.

Just wanted to say skin went really bad too, I feel your pain, I had spots galore one after the other then awful pigmentation where the spots where for months after, definitely hormonal. Anyway, I started cleansing with Garnier Micellar Water then washing with Clearasil ultra rapid action scrub then tone with clearasil deep pore treatment toner and within a few days my skin cleared, both have sacilyc acid which is what I googled to help. Currently 3 for 2 at boots worth a try imho

@U2HasTheEdge Any updates?

Sallystyle · 08/06/2018 15:55

It is much better now thank you. It's still leaking at times but it is much flatter.

It's just a spot which has become infected. Or a bite. I've had loads like that from insect bites. Best thing it leave alone and dab on some antiseptic cream if you do anything.
