Swelling under right breast?

It’s on the rib cage below the breast. It’s causing discomfort when I move and feels really weird.

Unfortunately I noticed it on my first day of holiday (2 days ago) and I won’t be home for another 2 weeks so won’t see a gp until I get back, if it’s still there of course.

I’ve googled it and the results freaked me out, it was all liver disease and cancer.

Anyone had a similar swelling before?

I have had gallstones and had to have my gallbladder out. It feels like something inside, just below the right rib. It hurt in certain positions and was relieved when I bent forward from an upright sitting position.

When it was really bad it felt almost like trapped wind and I could not get comfortable. At other times, it was more of an ache and travelled round into my back. If it sounds like this, it would be worth seeing a GP where you are to rule out pancreatitis. Provided you can manage the pain, gallbladder problems are really only an emergency if the pancreas is also affected or there is a stone trapped in one of the ducts further down. Red flags are raised temperature, sickness, jaundice. I would see someone to be on the safe side and research gallstones.

Thank you for your help, it does actually feel better when I lean forward so gallstones seems very likely.

I will visit a medical centre here. I was really freaked out by the google results and thought if it was going to turn out to be something huge then I’d rather not know until I’m home. After researching gallstones I’m fairly confident that’s what it’ll be though.

Thanks again Flowers
