Lump on head.

Just looking for abit of reassurance and advice really.
I've had a teeny lump/bump on my head since I was about 14? It's on the left side, opposite my ear, on my head but near my neck. It almost feels like theres a head on it but theres not. Like a hard spot. Went to the doctors who told me it was a sebaceous cyst and not to worry about it.

I'm 29 now and it's stayed the same, it hasn't grown, it's hard and it doesn't move. It was infected some years back and I had to have anti-biotics to clear it up. It hurts if I catch it or if my sunglasses rub it.

My dad died of cancer a few years back so my health anxiety has been escalated.
Has anyone else had anything like this?
Any help would be great. Thank you.

No point in saying don't worry (especially as you have HA). However, considering you have had this bump for 15 years, it ain't gonna be anything nasty. If you can continue living with it then just ignore it and name it! If it bothers you cosmetically - get it removed by a dermatologist. Hi back to your doctors and get a referral (or your doctor may do it). Do t tell them it's for cosmetic purposes as they won't touch it, just tell them that you scratch it in your sleep and it bleeds, or if you knock it can feel bruised and sore etc. That way it will be deemed a medical issue. Alternatively you can go private - go to a skin and laser clinic (google one in your area - most big cities have them). Smile

I've got a few of these. Every now and again they get infected. They are sebaceous or pilar cysts. Very common.
