Bleeding with sensitive bladder- any ideas

Sorry for the long story-wondering if anyone else has had anything similar.

A few months ago I started needing to pee frequently so dropped a urine sample into docs showed Leucocytes so had a short course of antibiotics- symptoms continued So did another sample, no bacteria grew in the culture (3 times dipped with +++ Leucocytes but no growth in lab) then 6 weeks ago I began bleeding (vagina) and it hasn’t stopped. The blood is bright red with some clots. GP has prescribed a course of antibiotics and done an urgent gynae referral. The worse symptom is the constant feeling of needing to pee (although the bleeding is also annoying) has anyone else had this combo of symptoms? What was it.
Thanks for reading x

There isn't any connection IMO. I thought you meant that your bladder was microscopic bleeding which can happen with painful bladder syndrome (used to be called interstitial cystitis.)

How old are you?

If you are anywhere near menopause (45 +) it's likely to be hormonal. Is your GP not treating you with anything to stop the bleeding? Heavy periods and non stop bleeding are usually down to perimenopause.

The needing to pee a lot is often because your estrogen levels are falling. The bladder and urethra are lined with cells that depend on estrogen to keep them plumped up.

You might need vaginal estrogen (which is absorbed by the bladder tissues too) and can help to prevent infections.

I'm a bit surprised your GP hasn't twigged as these are very common symptoms in women in perimenopause.

Ignore my first line- there is a connection but not in the way you meant!
Cut right back on coffee, tea, juices, and booze to help make your urine less irritating.

I’m only 35 so I don’t think it can be that but who knows! Thanks for your reply.

I've had IC before about 10yrs ago and it was agonising.

Vaginal bleeding, constant need to pee but nothing then sudden loss of control and then the worst pain when I did pee the tiniest amount.
It can happen at any age I was 24.

Have you been referred to test for BV? That CAN cause issues (had that too)

Hope it sorted fast
