Is this normal or could it be Chronic Fatigue?

For as long as I can remember as an adult, I have had a weird 'tension' tiredness after just a few hours AC. I have two children and with the oldest I worked until I had my second. I had to talk a lot through the day and found that mentally exhausting.

I now don't work but am active on hubby's business. Today I feel the tired tension that I haven't felt in a while. I drove around our local town for 1 hour visiting businesses and then hubby drove me further afield. After 4 hours we have come home.and the back of my neck and lower skull has a dull tension style ache going into my ears and forehead. It's not quite a headache but I feel mentally and physically tired.

I've explored massage and reflexology, my therapist said the way I walk would produce more lower back issues than higher. I've seen a podiatrist who told me that my feet compensate quite well for the mechanical 'abnormalities' in my feet.

I completed the Couch to 5k jogging programme and am on fat blocking medication to help lose weight but in fairness I've felt like this for at least 8 years, when I was slimmer too.

I've always been 'lazy' and am a better 'late morning sleeper' naturally than an 'early night sleeper' - even if I went to bed at 7pm I'd sleep til 10am whereas I could goto bed at 2am and manage to get up at 10am. Iron blood tests have always been ok.

I know Chronic Fatigue is hard to diagnose but I'm not sure what else I can do. Could it be a posture thing or can anyone share there experiences?

Does anyone even understand what I mean by this funny feeling that's not quite an ache or a headache?!!!!

*activity not AC

Should also add, even doing pleasurable activities such as shopping or lunch with a friend make me feel this way too!

Chronic fatigue (syndrome) is a last resort diagnosis when doctors can't find anything else.

Have you been to your GP? Had tests etc?

You mention iron, there are a myriad of different things that it could be. You need to see your GP. Have them do all the usual tests plus Vitamin D, B12, folate etc.

If you are able to complete a couch to 5k then it’s unlikely to be chronic fatigue- one of the key symptoms is post exertion fatigue, usually 24 to 48 hours later, a complete collapse. I have CF, at a level where I can manage to work and look after my kids, but there is no way that I could participate in any exercise routine. An unexpected staircase screws me up for 2 days.
