Hyperpigmentation - Natural cures?

I have hyperpigmentation on both sides of my face which was caused by sunburn over ten years ago...initially my GP said that it was just sun tan and that it would fade once the summer was over and this was ten years ago.

After three years, she realised that it was melasma as I still seemed to have a tan on the sides of my face.

It’s now been over ten years. It sometimes fades slightly if I apply sunscreen with SPF 50 and it gets worse if I’m in direct heat for too long with or without sunscreen.

To make it worse, fairly recently, I had some bright pink spots on my chin which went away on its own accord but left very light brown marks on my chin...it was initially light pink once the spot was no longer inflamed and then it shrunk and the skin formed over the spot kind of fell off.

Is there any way I can rid of the melasma and hyperpigmentation naturally?

TIA

Oh and another thing I have noticed over the past ten years is that I have some kind of hyperpigmentation on my lips? It looks like I have put darker lip liner around my lips and put light pink lipstick on?

I was reading that potatoes act as a natural bleaching agent, and I think lemon juice. Best to google though!

I went on holiday over Easter and noticed that I got brown patches on my forehead, top lip and one cheek. It was v upsetting and for the rest of the holiday i kept my face shaded. I am really hoping they fade as I lose my tan.
I believe if it is melasma you can have laser treatment to reduce them.

My GP had told me that ideally a dermatologist would be ideal to help but she didn’t think my skin condition was severe enough for referral. It has been over ten years now Sad
