Frozen Shoulder - Agony

Hi everyone,
Please enlighten me with your cures for a frozen shoulder. Few days ago I thought I slept funny on it. Today I couldn't lift my mug of the desk or take my jumper off. Completely losing movement. Taking paracetamol and trying to bear it.

Dr Google says move the shoulder or don't move at all. What's your personal experience?

Thanks!

Hi, I would go to see your gp. In my experience it was a long long road from initial symptoms to eventual diagnosis and finally treatment (11 months and failed steroid injections) Apparently frozen shoulder is notoriously difficult to diagnose and other things have to be ruled out first, which takes time. By the time mine was diagnosed it was too frozen for any kind of physio and I had hydrodilation with a local anaesthetic. It worked wonders and I have been pain free with almost normal movement since. Definitely see your gp op, best wishes Flowers

Bumping this in the hope that it helps op. It may not be a frozen shoulder ad it takes time to freeze and goes through various stages but you do need to get on the road to diagnosis and treatment with gp.

Thanks for your reply Smile
Went to see my GP and looks like the next few weeks will be horrible. It has gotten worse again over night. I'm keeping your treatment options in mind! I've no idea how you managed for 11 months!! Hmm

I tried to manage it with physio for 6 months and in the end, I ended up having surgery. I wish I had not waited. The surgery was quick and recovery was fine

Komorebi, I had this two years ago. It used to reduce me to tears and I thought I would die from sleep deprivation. Paracetamol made no difference & even the really powerful painkillers I have for when my disc goes, barely took the edge off it.

I had physio (because that always works for my spine issues) and it used to make me feel dizzy and nauseous from the pain and didn't provide any relief at all.

My success came from proper traditional chinese accupuncture. I had 8 sessions in total and by the end I had full relief from all pain.

Physio and good painkillers worked for me. NSAIDs are usually better for muscle pain .

I had this for 3 years. It was agony and I interfered with sleep. I had hydro dilation, steroid injections, Physio therapy- nothing worked.

Finally I bought a very expensive new pillow and the frozen shoulder slowly started to recover. I don’t know if the pillow was just coincidence and the shoulder pain would have resolved any way.

I have almost full mobility back in the shoulder now and am almost pain free. It’s twelve months now since I bought the pillow in France it cost about 85 Euros and unfortunately I can’t remember the make. It is similar to a Tempura pillow but slimmer.

You have my sympathy, I hope your shoulder recovers soon.

I have had this twice, straight after one another. Lasted 3 years in all.

Also tried everything. Injections didn't work at all. Physio worked partially on the first, not on the second. Ditto acupuncture. Painkillers : tried them all including morphine patches with very limited success.

I'm sorry to say op that I think the only cure is time. And that you have my utmost sympathy
