Why am I dizzy??

I feel really, really odd today.

I don't feel unwell and I don't have a headache but I feel very lightheaded and dizzy. As I'm going round the house doing stuff I'm stumbling and tripping over myself if I move too quickly or turn round quickly.

It's a bit like being drunk - what the hell is going on?

not enough iron??have you eaten much?ear infection?
i get dizzy lots but i know i lack iron and am crap at eating.

sandyballs · 17/05/2007 12:05

I had a funny day like that yesterday, as though I was slightly pissed. Nearly fell over at Victoria Station. Feel fine today.

Haribosmum · 17/05/2007 12:05

Could be vertigo. I had it last year and it felt like the I was walking on one of those travolators you get at the airport. If it carries on get it checked out by the doctors.

Gobbledigook · 17/05/2007 12:06

That's dh's stock answer - 'you're iron is low'. I don't think it is - I eat well and there is no reason for it to be low.

At first I thought it was low blood sugar but I've eaten quite a bit now and it's not helping.

I've had a sore ear on and off for a few weeks now so it's possible I've got an ear infection - but it's not hurting now and it's not been so bad that I've had to go to the GP..

Hmmm...

Yes, it is a bit like walking on one of those airport thingies!

It's just worrying me a bit because I need to pick the boys up in the car later.

Mind you, I'm fine sat down, it's when I move about.

I had that for ages (when I was working, do you remember) I'd be walking down a corridor but feel as if my head was moving ever so slightly right and left. I went to the doctor's twice - I think he gave me some tablets, can't remember what, but anyway it got better eventually.

You were an anaemic baby??????????

lummox · 17/05/2007 12:40

sounds like mild labyrinthitis .

i got it when very, very tired after the birth of ds1.

tis miserable but gets better of its own accord.

bed rest is good for it (if you have any chance of getting any).

hope you feel better.

Gobbledigook · 17/05/2007 12:55

Bed rest would be marvellous, but sadly, not really an option!

Well, may try and lie down this afternoon as I'll only have ds3 here.

Oh yes Jools - I remember that now!

Gobbledigook · 17/05/2007 12:57

Oh dear, that site says cut out coffee and I've had 2 cups already.

Also remove noise and stress - hmmm, who can I pack off ds3 with?!

Was just looking at it. It really might as well just say 'don't have children'.

kate100 · 17/05/2007 13:02

COuld be vertigo, which can be caused by an inner ear infection. I've had it recently and feel over putting my trousers on as I couldn't stand on one leg

Your GP can give you some medication to stop the dizzy feeling.

Slubberdegullion · 17/05/2007 13:05

Low Blood pressure?

I feel exactly how you have described if I'm dehydrated...usually drinking a couple of big glasses of squash (not sugar free) does the trick.
Do you have a usually low resting blood pressure?

babyblue2 · 17/05/2007 13:06

I'm dizzy but I can't say its down to being lightheaded, just a bit daft. Hope you're ok though, isn't it perhaps vertigo?

Gobbledigook · 17/05/2007 13:50

I have normal BP usually, but on the lower side of normal.

Do I go to GP or it not worth it. I do feel really dizzy and I'm struggling really. Have already rallied friends to do school run for me.

It better go by tomorrow as I've got a girls night out and I'll be most miffed if I can't go!!

sorry about the delay in getting back.

If it's getting worse then I'd call the GP, otherwise give it a good nights sleep and see how you feel in the morning.
