I’m absoltuely desperate for the above.
I’ve recently been diagnosed with an obliterated pouch of Douglas, also cervix and top of vagina stuck to bowel.
I’m 28 years old, had a miscarriage a couple of months ago. I was only diagnosed with endo 14 days ago.
I’m feeling very overwhelmed, I’ve decided to have a second surgery to rid what they can then try for a baby.
I don’t find the Internet forums on endo very useful. They’re so depressing and downbeat. I know millions of women have this disease and I get it’s shit but I’m just looking to hear from some lovely ladies with positive stories
Thank you so much in advance xx

Didn't want you to go unanswered, though my experience isn't quite the same as yours. I'm not sure what stage my endo was, but I had a laparoscopy to diagnose and treat it, then another two years later when it returned. I was 25 and 27 when I had my surgeries, and they told me after the second that it would likely affect my fertility.

As it turned out, I was lucky. I had a Mirena coil after my second laparoscopy which I had removed when we wanted to ttc. My gynae warned me that if the endo came back before I got pregnant, a third laparoscopy might not be so successful as the other two. But I got pregnant in my first month of trying, and had DS with no complications (there was actually a sub chorionic haematoma, but I don't think that was due to this). I had another Mirena put back in post partum and replaced 5 years later with another.

I've had no more endo issues, no periods because of the Mirena, and am now in good health. We only had one child because we only wanted one, so I'm not sure how my fertility would have been if we'd tried again, but mine is definitely a happy endo story. I'm now 40 with a 9 year old and no endo symptoms (though am not looking forward to next year when I need to get my Mirena replaced because it hurt a lot last time!). Best of luck: I know there are only bad stories on endo forums, but lots of mums I know have struggled with endo and been ok in the end.

Thank you so much!!! Can I ask where you had your endo removed?
I’m really nervous as it’s round my bowel and I’m petrified to be honest!
Xx

I can't honestly remember as it was around 15 years ago, but I remember that it was extensive. Sorry, that's not very helpful!

@ShoesJerry you’ve been more than helpful with your positive story. I was on the pill before TTC and obviously that’s when I found out I had endo. Would you recommend the coil to keep the endo at bay? Obviously that’s something I need consider long term xxxx

Yes absolutely. For me, the Mirena stops my periods completely so works brilliantly for keeping endo at bay. I'm on my third now and will keep using them for sure.
