Help! Tooth infection! What can I do to get me through the weekend?

I have tooth pain, at a dentist appointment a couple of weeks ago they flushed the infection out. Follow up appointment Wednesday. It's got much much worse in the last few hours, can feel the inflammation with my tongue and it hurts even though I've taken ibuprofen, paracetamol and rubbed Bonjela on it. Is there anything else I can do?

Try regular hot salty mouth rinsing

Get some ambesol liquid as soon as you can

Try a hot water bottle on it

Extra strength Orajel

bakingcupcakes · 06/05/2018 23:32

Orajel. But I don't know where you'd get it at this time. You'd need a pharmacy.

DextroDependant · 06/05/2018 23:32

You can get ibuprofen with codeine on too, that might help.

Aridane · 06/05/2018 23:33

Those numbing gels

SimonBridges · 06/05/2018 23:33

Whisky.

Thank you all. Ouch, it hurts. Whiskey and pharmacy in the morning. Wine and all the drugs tonight, not helping.

Poor thing, it's agonising. You can phone the non-emergency NHS number and ask to see an emergency dentist if it gets too bad.

Which tooth - have it out with emergency dentist if a back tooth???

differentnameforthis · 07/05/2018 10:13

Not hot salt water, warm.. you'll burn your mouth.

Clove oil only works on hard tissue, will burn soft tissue.

Does your hospital have emergency dentistry?
