Just to explain I don't suffer from migraines all that often but have had a few over the years.

Started yesterday with the flashing lights took painkillers and the lights were gone within the hour however I have been left with a dull pain over my eye. I've bought Nurofen migraine tablets to try and I've been taking paracetomol aswell. Drinking plenty of water. But it just won't shift. It even hurts to brush my hair! Had an early night last night but woke up with it still there.

Any home remedies/self care advice please

Window open is essential at bedtime in helping and preventing ime..
Chocolate seems to improve mine also!! Cool shower and sleep.

Dissolvable aspirin (I take 900mg) may help. Also,I find sitting up rather than lying down helps, as does having something cold on my forehead and back of neck, and not wearing socks Confused
Would also recommend something menthol (my go to is putting a little Vicks in a jug with boiling water and breathing in the steam ).No idea why it helps but it does.

Go and chat with a pharmacist-there's alternatives to painkillers available like sumitriptan.

I take a version of this from the GP and IIRC, it stops to vessels from contricting, relieving the migraine. It works very well and might help.

Are you sure that it's not neuralgia?
