11 month old with a cheesy head......

DD is 11 months old and still has quite a bit of cardle cap which is beginning to smell a bit cheesy!! She scratches it occasionally but it doesn't seem to be bothering her too much - just looks rather unsightly....

Currently use dentinox shampoo twice a week but this does not appear to have any effect at all. I also tried olive oil on her scalp when she was 8 weeks old and it just made her head go bright red so I'm reluctant to try that again! Anyone got any good tips for getting rid of the stuff??

Aveeno cream (the panacea that it is) worked for my dd, I had tried everything else! I just smeared loads on her head after a bath and it was gone in days! The cheesehead smell is awful isn't it?

vaseline - I smeared it all over at night and rinsed off the next day, and some it off sort of 'lifts' off if you see what I mean.

Thanks for the tips so far ladies! So where can I get hold of the Weleda cream and also the Aveeno stuff you mention CD? Vaseline we have stacks of home for dd anyway - we use it on her bottom - so that'll be easy enough. not sure I'll be able to do the washing off each morning though as we are already on a tight schedule to get out of the door to get her to nursery and me (or dh) to work....!! Still if it gets rid of the cheese smell and obvious unsightlyness I'm prepared to do anything!!

re getting the vaseline off, when you are cuddling your dd just sort of rub her head and it the vaseline kind of lifts/rolls the cradle cap off - something quite satisfying about it (though sounds gross!)

Vaseline worked best for us and only one application needed. I combed through the following morning before washing, gently dragging the comb across dd1's scalp which loosened the cradle cap, then it all washed away after two shampoos
