Stressing about palpitations

I used to get them very infrequently over the years but in the last week I’ve had them daily and lots of them.
Random flutterings that go into my neck and make me want to cough. Nothings changed that I can think would cause them. I do drink coffee and Diet Coke but no more than normal. They really frighten me. I often get runs of them and if I feel my pulse at the same time I can feel it skip a beat then resume to normal

Saw the GP earlier who hasn’t done much. Said my resting heart rate far too high and given me a beta blocker to help with the palpitations.
Booked in for bloods and ecg but not til the 16th to rule out any issues with thyroid or the heart. I’ll be worrying like mad til then.
Anyone had similar who can reassure me ?

Have you seen the GP @Louisethemum? You’d be ok turning up to A+E if it’s continuous like that. Dh has and they pump him full of beta blockers.

@Fluffycloudland77 I’m waiting for a holter monitor but it’ll likely be months due to covid. I tried A&E the other day but was a weekday and yet packed to the rafters with ambulances queuing outside for a observation bed, which I would also need for an ECG. I had to come home as the waiting was likely to be hours into the double digits and I’ve got two small children. The palpitations also started to subside which was fairly typical. As soon as I get up and about they don’t seem to be as severe. If it carries on I’ll put a web request to speak to a GP again next week and maybe they can do a ECG at the practice. I just feel like there’s no help out there. I sound like a hysterical woman, and maybe I am. The ectopics become near constant when I’m anxious (viscious circle), lie in certain positions or after I’ve eaten. However the severity is fairly sudden onset over the last week. Have always suffered with ectopics but have never known anything like this!

It freaks everyone out, don’t let them tell you you just need to calm down.

I’d just contact the dr anyway. Don’t wait.
