Knee pain

Since I was pregnant about 3 years ago I've suffered with knee pain in my right knee, it used to flare up sometimes after a long day of walking ect but now it seems to be every day I am in pain, any idea what this could be? I will go to the doctors at some point but getting an appointment is like winning the lottery!

I advise you to go to a good physio (about £30
Per half hour round here). Honestly, I doubt a gp will be much help. A good physio will tell you whether it's muscular (so nothing much to worry about) or structural (perhaps a little more complicated. Worth it fir peace of mind.

As a fellow knee pain sufferer, you have my sympathy. (Mine is arthritis plus damage from an accident years ago) Go and see your GP firstly, they'll be able to refer you onwards.

Gp will refer you to physio. Could be many things. Ask for a scan, to check for osteoarthitis. Weight gain puts pressure on knees. Swimming, yoga, gentle moment are good. Reducing sugar, adding fiber helps joints anecdotally. People talk about tumeric and blackpepper reducing joint pain.......... The NHS will refer you, or you can go privately to a physio or chiro or osteopath.

Physios can refer you for scans and X-rays. I'm not a physio by the way... just a patient!

Sorry just saw these replies, went to the doctors in the end they said the cartilage has worn down in my knee so the 2 bones rubbing together is what's giving me pain, has anyone else had this and what was the outcome?

Sounds like osteoarthritis then. I have same. Was told I would probably need knee replacement surgery eventually, but am too young yet (57).

Guess all those aerobic step classes through the 80's got me...yay go for the burn (thanks Jane☹).

I've been told I'm being referred to physio and the muscular Skeletal team for an assessment, I wasn't expecting knee problems at my age I'm only 26b

I know someone had a complete knee replacement about age 26 (also cartiliage all gone). X fingers yours is more manageable.
