ECG - hyperthyroidism

Just wondering if hyperthyroidism would affect ECG results. I had an ECG yesterday and just had a call to say the Dr wants to see me to discuss the outcome of the ECG.

I had a blood test (at the same time as the ECG )for hyperthyroidism as I have most of the symptoms so I'm assuming it will come back as me positive (the Dr seemed to think it was a thyroid issues given my symptoms - fast heart rate, period issues, anxiety, weight loss, b12 deficiency etc). However, the abnormal ECG results have freaked me out a bit so I'm hoping that the thyroid issues are the cause of the abnormalities.

It wasn't the heart rate that was the issue as the nurse told me that it was 87, which isn't particularly high for me. There was clearly something else going on.

Anyone know if there's a link with an abnormal ECG and hyperthyroidism?

Nowadays, due to palpitations with Hyper thyroidism, beta blockers are often given. being Hyper usually causes a high pulse rate and blood pressure.
Normal heart rate is thought to be 60 ( very good) -90 (not so good).
My pulse was 160 just sitting still aged 25. Are you taking Carbimazole to slow the hyperactivity down?

No because it hasn't been confirmed yet but I'm taking propranolol for the palpitations which helps a lot,

160 is high, must have been horrible.

Yeah hyperthyroidism can be the cause of abnormal ECG results
