Lumps at back of tongue

kissmelittleass · 26/04/2018 21:09

Just noticed today that the back of my tongue had lots of red lumps. Checked kids tongues and do and they don't have them like mine. I have had a burning ache on and off across my lungs and chest for about two weeks and my mouth has tasted funny, I get acid reflex so thought that might be why. I have asthma and my sinus is terrible at the moment with my nose running all the time. Would these tongue lumps be related to the other symptoms? I googled and some of it has me a bit worried. I'm going to see if I can get appointment to check but any ideas in the meantime what these bumps are?

Just to add the bumps are big about the size of an angry spot!

I have them too and have done for years, mine get bigger with a cold or after spicy food/salt and vinegar crisps etc. Apparently totally normal, google circumvallate papillae Smile

I have these too, had them for many years with no ill effects.
Why not ask the dentist on your next routine visit?

Thanks guys! Relief! I was thinking the worst especially as I have a few other things going on and am waiting for an endoscopy so you can imagine my shock when I found them! Mine are still up and big but I presume that's normal, must read up about them now. Feeling relieved!

I once went to the doctor about exactly that.

When he told me they were normal I felt rather foolish!

Haha well I'm glad I asked on here first! I would of checked with the doctor myself especially as they are still big and bumpy.
