Constant colds / sore throat

I’ve been constantly unwell with non stop colds for a good few months now. I’ve just had a cold for over 2 weeks. Just about better for a day or two, now developed sore throat and can feel thise telltale signs all over again.

I eat very well - lots of fruit & veg and I also take a vitamin supplement.

I am at the point now where I cannot take more time off work & people are commenting on how I’m always full of cold. It’s quite embarrassing! I’ve always been susceptibile but it’s just getting ridiculous. I’ve tried every remedy going.

I’m always feeling very tired / drained even when I sleep well.

Can any one recommend anything to help / possible cause?

have you tried an antihistamine, daily for a couple of week....on the grounds that it might be more of a hayfevery thing

Most years I seem to get a lurky cold that snuffles about for ages at this time of year, and eventually realised that it goes off a lot quicker if I am taking antihistamines for hives

I go through phases of hives and itching and apparently have hayfever too now! I mostly bulk buy loratidine in tesco!

Have you had blood tests for thyroid and anaemia? Both can cause immune problems. Before mine were under control I had chest infection and tonsillitis one after the other constantly.

Also, if you feel you are getting poorly try taking 1000 vit C in addition to your multivitamin to give yourself a bit of a boost.

I was going to say maybe hay fever too. I've just clicked that it's that time of year - finally - and I still wake up with a slight sore throat but as soon as I have had an antihistamine it abates for the day.

Worth a trip to Dr for bloods too as anaemia can make you feel generally unwell. Hope you feel better soon.

Probably a trip to GP so they can rule out serious illness just to be on the safe side, better safe than sorry! It could be hay fever or a blocked nose or something but best just to get it checked out to see if there is an underlying cause

Thanks all - I’ll try an antihistamine this evening and mention next time at GP.

Sounds like hay fever to me too. Start taking a non drowsy antihistamine each morning and see how you feel in a few days.
