Private health insurance - pre-existing conditions

UserThenLotsOfNumbers · 22/04/2018 16:10

I'm thinking about getting private health insurance for my family (me, husband and young daughter). Ideally I'd like this to cover outpatients apt's, pre existing conditions and cover all treatment, but I'm sure this will cost a lot more.

Does anyone have this type of cover, and if so who are you with, are they good, and if you don't mind sharing, what do you pay each month?

Thanks!

I have pmi through work with Vitality so don't know how much it costs but pre existing conditions are covered in my plan. Just used once so far GP appointment took two days, 1st appointment around a week, second appointment another week, paid in full. Only slight issue is the hospital they gave me nearest was 30 mins away and quickest was an hour away when we have a private hospital at the top of our road.

I am added to hubby's work policy for which we pay an extra £30+ per month and I've used it lots. I did a quote recently to see what it would be on me alone and I was offered something at £90+. I have lots of things wrong with me so I thought that was ok.

Hi, I think some PMI's bought via a work policy cover pre existing conditions. If you can't get this through work then some policies cover you for pre existing conditions if you haven't had medical advice and/or treatment in a certain time frame. You need to have a ring around our contact a broker.
I have Bupa and had to claim last year and they were excellent so I would recommend.
