I have it in both feet but badly in one. I saw a podiatrist who gave me calf exercises to do 100 times a day which I don't have time for with a baby. Please can anyone let me know how they cured themselves of it. I can hardly walking after sitting or sleeping. I think I got it from being barefoot all the time at home since I had baby 17 months ago. I have ordered some Epsom salts to soak feet in and done heel pads from Amazon. Do you wear them even in slippers if you are at home all day?

MBTs aren’t made any more but I swear by my ASICS Gel Odysseys for serious city and country walking - I could feel my feet healing from the moment I put them on.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 16/04/2018 07:50

No more MBTs! Shock Shows how long since I’ve had a bad attack of PF, which I put down to literally never going barefoot on a hard surface - always have a pair of Fitflops to hand.

Dalesgirl16 · 16/04/2018 16:36

Thank you.

ciderwithbuda I'd love to do that exercise but what did you mean by opposite knife?

Why are MBTs no longer made! They are supposed to be amazing for your feet!

I have ordered lots of your suggestions from Amazon. Thanks. Really hope this goes soon.

I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be opposite knee!

Dalesgirl16 · 16/04/2018 19:50

Ha! Thank you!

Dalesgirl - the amazing magical fitflops that cured me are called F Sporty on the sneakers section of their website.

fitflopqueen · 17/04/2018 01:27

Another fitflop fan, had PF for about a year, its fine now but I tend to wear only fitflops, have many pairs.

CiderwithBuda · 17/04/2018 08:11

Dalesgirl - sorry! Yes - opposite knee! Bloody autocorrect and bloody me not prof reading! Grin Blush

Eolian · 17/04/2018 08:15

I bought fitflops, having seen them recommended elsewhere, but didn't find they made any difference. I find them pretty uncomfortable to walk in too - I have slim feet and my fitflops are the right size length-wise but too loose. They are bloody expensive for a bit of plastic too!

Susanjeffery1984 · 17/04/2018 08:18

I had it one year after wearing flip flops a lot. I found wearing cushioned trainers with a raised arch helpful and small heels as soon as my feet felt less painful.
I still get twinges in the summer when I’ve been wearing flip flops and have to swap to cushioned sandals now! Good luck!

Sketchers memory sole trainers and crocs in the house. Never go barefoot or in flat soled shoes.

CiderwithBuda · 17/04/2018 08:58

Eolian - there is a brand called Vionic who do supportive footwear suitable for PF. I think they are an American brand but available in UK on a website called Simply Feet. Some of them might suit your feet better? I’ve had a couple of pairs and find them good. Some less orthopaedic looking than others! They also do inserts that will help.

I think the main thing with PF is to always make sure your shoes have adequate support. No flat flip flops or ballerina type shoes. I find making sure I have arch support makes a huge difference.

Eolian · 17/04/2018 13:44

Thanks Cider - will check those out.

TOADfan · 17/04/2018 16:17

Following for ideas. I find the only thing that helps me is to have a small 1-2 inch heel on my shoes. Not good if I'm walking a lot cos then the balls of my feel get sore!
