slapped cheek disease/virus?

dd 21 mthshas today sported a very high temp, a few high pitched misery induced wailings in the night and during her morning nap - normally sleeps like sedated tortoise in hibernation.
She has one bright red cheek, it is not eething as she has all her teeth bar the late molars
she is ok really, the temp is controllable, however she just threw up everywhere after waking with a shriek.
Over the phone the doc sys it sounds like slapped cheek disease, mild enough apparently.
Anyone else?

here's some info

When my kids get a temp (not very often thank God) their cheeks are usually red anyway. Presumably just a virus and wouldn't rule out a tummy bug. Hope she feels better soon xx

its odd as only one cheek is red and it's very bright it literally does look as if she has been slapped, she ahd it yesterday but I thought it was how she slept on it...
doc is going to see her later on to check her ears and throat etc...
not too worried as she is pretty chirpy given the temperature she has! She is a warrior truly thuogh being ill...
thanks jampot

Found a photo here . If it is slapped cheek you should stay away from pregnant women (although by the time the rash appears it is no longer very contagious), and you should probably inform any pg contacts.
