Ok so I'm so fucked off!!

Long story short. ..im 33 and had my first Bartholin cyst a month ago. For about a year I noticed a lump on the right side of my vagina lip but stupidly put it down to a prolapse. Yes i know that now looking back was not the case and stupid of me.

Anyways a month ago this little lump flaired up into a lump the size of a golf ball and was bloody sore. I couldn't sit or aything. I went to my gp who reffered me to the gynocology unit. I got a local to numb the area and it was drained and a word catheter put in. I also had 2 courses of antibiotics.

After a week of this fekin catheter hanging out my noon it fell out itself and I felt great.

Roll on a month and hello betty Bartholin cyst....its fekin back. I'm so pissed off. I'm thinking my catheter fell out too soon or I've had sex too soon 🙈....12 days after.

So I'm now going to try pheobes cure. It's a home remedy and it seems to have a good success rate.

Has anybody else had similar or tried this...

From a very frustrated mum who misses sex and the gym.... 😭🙈

Holland and Barrett height strength silica works for me. Take a tablet daily to keep them at bay or a double dose if you can feel one popping up. They make you miserable so it's definitely worth a go.

Oh I feel for you! I have one right in the crease of my right leg...Jesus Christ the pain, makes it impossible to wear underwear or to sit or walk...I was at the GP so many times, I was only given antibiotics the first two times that did sweet fuck all and was given fucidic acid that didn't really do much and was told there was no point in a referral as it could come back , it disappeared for a while of it's own accord but it now back with avengance

BUT

I have one now on the left inside :( it's been murder an I've always wondered if anyone else has anything they've tried at home that's worked

I use arnica gel when the itch get too much an that relieves them for a little while

I'm at the end of my tether :(

Boiling water on a hot flannel can bring it to a head and make it pop. The relief is amazing. I had one that was turning into an abscess 😱. I felt so ill, my whole body was aching.

@Kel9 Really hope it works for you - I've always got a stash in my house just in case.

BetterEatCheese · 10/04/2018 08:55

I second the boiling water on a flannel or for smaller ones a make up remover pad. Morning and night.

Well girls I'm going to try pheobes method apparently it works well. It's 1oz of Calamine lotion, 1teaspoon of witch hazel and 1teaspoon of tea tree. Put it on cotton wool pads and keep it on the cyst for half hour. I'm going to have a hot salt water bath before hand then repeat! Eeek hope it works xxx

Ok being doing it all day but starting to think this method only works once it's infected so might have to wait it out!! Update soon. Be interesting to find out how the rest of you get on! X

I had one that came back twice- surgery was the only option. It was such a relief. I awoke from surgery and felt amazing. The scar tissue it left however was/is not so amazing!

Kel9 · 10/04/2018 15:17

I've had it drained before but worried as some say it doesn't matter what procedure you get they can come back!! Which is just a pain in the arse! It's not sore at this moment so I'll try what I can. 😑🙈 xx

Mine wasn’t drained. I can’t remember the surgical procedure as it was 10 years ago but no catheter was used. I remember them saying the stitched the tubes open more widely to allow it to drain naturally in future. I had a lot of stitches afterwards

I named mine Frank.

I had it through my pregnancy but one day Frank just wasn't there anymore. I was really worried because he was rather large and I was worried about labour.
I never felt him go.

Frank 🤣🤣 brilliant!
