Should I BD after ovulation?

Finally got a static smiley today on my clearblue ovulation stick after 4 days of flashing! We BD'd again this evening, I'm pretty sure today was ovulation day as I had a few mild pains earlier, is it worth BDing again tomorrow do you think? For the sake of ttc I mean! Smile or is the day after too late, or could it have a negative impact?

Can’t hurt and your egg can last 24 hours so if you both feel like it then go for it!

Good luck Smile

Thank you, yeah if it can't hurt I suppose we might as well... Just don't want to put too much pressure on DH! Trying really hard not to make it all about ttc but it's hard not to at peak times.. X

It's a non-MN set of initials for the more usual phrases for the act of TTC. Shag being the one I notice most often as MN speak, but on more medical threads it would be 'have sex'

Some phrases belong on other sites, and have never been popular or well received on MN (which does have a distinct lingo of its own - one of the markers of a community)

I was answering justhereforthepoostorues

The idiolect and shibboleths of a site are an important part of what makes a distinctive community (I've posted about this before - it's a known linguistic pattern).

Using a word that is normally being the pale in the context in which you choose to use it may well have unintended outcomes. In this case it provoked a request for elucidation. Which I provided (though OP beat me to it) and expanded by describing the more usual terms in the community language of MN. Pleas note that as a linguist I am describing, not proscribing or prescribing.

@AuntieStella all very interesting but the 'unintended consequence' was easily remedied wasn't it. I don't think there are rules about what acronyms you can and can't use on forums!

There aren’t any rules, (except about stealth disablist terminology) and most people on the TTC threads (though maybe not General Health) will be able to work it out, but you will mark yourself out as a newbie / “Not One Of Us”. Feel free not to care.

Thanks, I don't! Grin

I’m lost. “The baby dance”- as in sexual intercourse? Sex?

Do people really call it that or am I missing some sort of meme or joke? Is that what you say to your partner “you know what I’d love tonight? A good baby dance”?

Ick.
