I get these cuts in the corner of mouth-usually over the winter. I can usually get rid of them fairly swiftly but this one just isn't shifting. I've tried vasceline, nappy rash barrier cream and now the chemist told me to try blisteez but nothing's working. Any idea please?!

Take a multi vitamin, and b12. I had the same and nothing touched it until I took vits

Slartybartfast · 08/04/2018 09:24

How about Daktarin?

littlem133 · 08/04/2018 10:06

B12 could be a possibility. I tick a few of the symptom boxes. Never heard of that other cream!

I have b12 injections every 12 weeks for B12 deficiency and this was one of the symptoms I suffered before diagnosis.

AdaColeman · 08/04/2018 13:41

It could be a fungal infection, which Nystatin cream would quickly clear up. What does your GP say about it?

littlem133 · 08/04/2018 14:06

Haven't been to the gp. It'll be weeks before I get an appt

Cymex cream would help

Heratnumber7 · 08/04/2018 14:09

Go to see a pharmacist. They are pretty good.
Is it a cold sore?

youarenotkiddingme · 08/04/2018 14:13

Angular stomatitis?

Caused by chronic iron deficiency aneamia. I have them and they can get very sore at times.

Fucidin cream helps me

restingbemusedface · 08/04/2018 14:16

It’s probably a B12 deficiency. I get those every now and again, I just take some B12 or a multi vit and it tends to go away in a few days

IntelligentYetIndecisive · 08/04/2018 14:16

A good multivitamin and iron supplement, a vitamin B supplement and try acyclovir until you get to see a GP.

If I get any cuts or sores around my mouth, I always treat it like a cold sore.

youarenotkiddingme · 08/04/2018 14:16

This mine when not sore

Angular cheilitis. Do you wear a denture or braces? Vit B is very useful. Marmite usually cures mine!

halfwitpicker · 08/04/2018 14:21

I get these.

It's just 'cold' in your lip with the changing of the seasons.

You're welcome for the scientific explanation Grin

Thanks everyone. Just got myself some vit b and iron tablets. Should I book an appointment at my GPS or dentists? I'm a bridesmaid in 4 weeks GrinBlush I don't wear dentures or braces.

It should clear up within a week. How long have you had it for?

littlem133 · 08/04/2018 21:20

This time just over two weeks Confused

NinkyNonk1 · 08/04/2018 21:46

I'm pretty sure it's angular chellitis as I've had it quite a bit in the last few years. Mine seem to be sparked by taking antibiotics and I used fucidin cream to clear it up. It hurts though and it's so annoying Thanks

littlem133 · 08/04/2018 22:23

Thank you everyone. It's super sore this evening. Are any anti fungal creams (nystatin (Mycostatin)
ketoconazole (Extina)
clotrimazole (Lotrimin)
miconazole (Lotrimin AF, Micatin, Monistat Derm))
over the counter or will I need to wait (weeks) for a Docs appt?

I find that the daktarin oral gel relieves it, though I haven't had one for a while

Skiiltan · 08/04/2018 23:34

Is the appearance of your tongue altered at all?
