So I noticed a lump a few days ago and I rang the GP this morning . Assuming to wait a few weeks for a appointment as there usually really busy !
But they gave me a urgent appointment within the hour
The doctor found the lump and has referred me to the breast clinic but told me not to worry .
Was told it could take a week to hear from the clinic but had a phone call within the hour again :(
Appointment is on the 17th of April !
I'm 17weeks pregnant and I have a son who turns one next week and I'm absolutely petrified !
Heartbroken as I just assumed they'd say they couldn't feel a thing and send me away care free as I'm only 18 💔
Any advice ?
The lump is in my left breast and is really tender to the touch I can't lay on my left side as it is painful bras are my worst nightmare !

I think you can only think of it in this way - how lucky are we to live in a country where a suspicious lump is treated so quickly? The quicker they see you, the quicker they can reassure you or treat you.

You are very young and the chances are massive that this lump is nothing at all. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you Flowers

There is another thread about breast lumps I was on there were several of us who found lumps and were referred quickly and of those who posted all our lumps were fine. I totally get you i was genuinely an absolute wreck for the 10 days between finding it and my hospital appointment convinced myself that not only was it cancer but I must have spread as well!! Our minds can be dangerous! Keep busy keep off Google and talk to your loved ones about your worries. Take care and I hope all is fine for you

Are you 18?

When I was young I had a friend who was 19 who found a lump and they referred her asap. It was one of these and harmless,

www.breastcancercare.org.uk/information-support/have-i-got-breast-cancer/benign-breast-conditions/fibroadenoma

Another doc said to her that at 19 the breasts are still growing and changing and that can cause lumps

Also, you are pregnant which can cause strange hormonal changes in the breasts!

I was you a month ago. It all turned out to be nothing. Most lumps are nothing. I LOVE that the NHS takes every single lump seriously. We are very lucky. Honestly honestly, try not to worry. A tender lump that came up suddenly (it must have been suddenly for you to notice pain from just lying down) is more than likely something hormonal. Ducts or milk supply etc

Pickledgerkingsareathing · 06/04/2018 18:05

He said he was fairly sure it wasn't milk ducts etc --- just worried me so panicked right now our nhs is great but the wait feels horrid no matter how soon it is xxx

Moving again -- was told that because I can't wait till my next cycle or take any pills for it but he also said that it felt like 'something' but not to say the doctor said I have cancer kind of thing x

I have just spent a month with a serious health threat hanging over my head, so I understand your inevitable anxiety. I am afraid our brains extrapolate to the worst possible scenario and it is hard to stop that - so you have all my sympathy.

It is a huge positive that the health service is getting on to this with speed, so you will have some results quickly.

My DD has been through all this twice and on both occasions the news was good. It is most likely that this will be the outcome for you. I would say try not to worry - but it is easier said than done! Stay strong.

Don't worry about the speed of things. A breast lump will now be given an urgent appt at the GP and they have a very quick referral time for the breast clinic as well and I guess if there was a space they just wanted to get you in. It has no bearing on how serious the lump is.

The sooner it gets checked the better and the chances are its nothing (9 out of 10 referrals are nothing). And if it is something, then you will get treated and the fact that they were so speedy at getting you checked will be a big bonus Smile

I had two sore breast lumps last year. They were both abcesses, drained and cleared out the same day.

I've been about seven times now, and it's always been the same apart from the first one, which was just a cyst that they removed within two weeks.

I would hope yours is similar. Fingers crossed.
