tombley · 10/05/2007 14:08

Yes have tried all the creams and although they help a bit I still find I can't play tennis or go to the gym if I'm ...um.... what do you say? Having an attack???

I have some protosedyl ointment and suppositories and they do help. You use them twice a day for a week and the problem usually goes away.

I escaped stretchmarks so piles were my only reminder of pregnancy (except for DD and a cs scar)

It's the itchiness which pees me off!

The docs btw don't want to see them until you've had two weeks treatment with steriodal ointment (like protosedyl) so don't be bashful about going to see the GP to request treatment.

FYI 70% of people in the UK suffer from piles at some point in the UK - you have to wonder if the other 30% enjoy the experience

Go see your GP, sounds like you need some help and strong creams. Motherhood, eh?!?

tombley · 10/05/2007 14:16

WMMC - can you just ask for that treatment? I am a little reticent about visitng GP because although I had 2 children by natural delivery (as you can tell) I am reluctant for anyone else in this Principality to see my undercarriage. Also am very scred he will say I need to have them removed. NOOOOOOOOOO.

Thanks I will make an appt for tomorrow. The bloody things irritate me so much that I'm really short tempered with the kids then, poor things.
Will GP mind if I attend appt with a paper bag on my head?

whomovedmychocolate · 10/05/2007 16:31

Tombley, yes just go see the GP, there are about four standard ointments they prescribe - any of them will work but some are stronger than others. They will prescribe at least two courses of treatment before resorting to surgery/banding/sending for the 'hand up bum' man.

Honestly 24 hours in, I could go to bed without feeling like my arse had fleas (yes that was TMI, Sorry!)
