Niggle in lower right abdomen turned to pain

Just about an inch inside my right hip I've had pain for about six weeks.

I've always had the odd niggle there over the years. Had a scan and palpating examination which revealed nothing.

Halfway through my cycle last month I started bleeding. Big clots and heavy blood. Then it slowed and two days later my normal period started.

But this pain in the lower right abdomen. What is it? It's not crippling. Just constantly there.

I'm worried it's ovarian cancer. I simply haven't had a chance to get to the doctor (a couple of family emergencies, Easter holidays and lack of available appointments.

How would I know if it's ovarian cancer? I have no bloating or anything like that. Just this pain.

Best to try and get it checked. It is probably a cyst, but better to get it checked out for your peace of mind.

Why do people get cysts?

I'm so worried it's something more sinister. But I have no other symptoms associated with ovarian cancer.

I mean does breastfeeding protect against ovarian and breast cancers if, despite bfing each child for a year or two, your periods returned within three months after giving birth?

You aren’t going to find the answers on here I’m afraid. You need to make time to see your Dr and get checked out. That’s the only way.

Ovarian cancer is rarely symptomatic which is why it is normally picked up late. It is far more likely that you have an ovarian cyst, ovarian cysts can occur during ovulation and are relatively common. Pain in the right lower abdomen could also be grumbling appendix. Either way you need to see your GP who can arrange an ultrasound to check.
