Incontinence pad problem

My wife had a stroke three years ago, now cannot go out by herself and consequently I am responsible for buying her clothes. She doesn't really have much of a urinary incontinence problem, but for her peace of mind she uses Tena Lady Discreet Mini pads. Since her stroke I have bought her 3-packs of plain beige full briefs from Primark, which until recently seemed fine. However, she's now saying that the pads won't stick properly to the briefs. The gusset (hope that's the right word) does indeed seem quite smooth. Womens' briefs and knickers are a closed book to me. Advice much appreciated.

M&S and get 100% cotton I'd say

Forgot to say- that's what I used after giving birth and I didn't have a problem with the massive pads you need to wear afterwards
And go for full briefs.

Yes, pay a bit more and get cotton.
Mil (used tenas) has either M&S full briefs in cotton or sloggis, which while not cheap wash well and are comfy, they fit snugly to keep the pad in place without being so tight they cut you in two.
You can get sloggis on line or from matalan btw.

OK, I've just looked and M&S do a 4 Pack Pure Cotton Full Brief for £5.00, which won't break the bank. I'll run those past my wife.
