Fed up of being in pain- stomach issues since forever....

I’m lying in bed so fed up.

I’ve had ongoing stomach issues since my son was born in 2012.

Was diagnosed with Ibs in 2013.

Anyways fast forward a few years and it got out of control. Has back passage bleeding so had a colonoscopy which came back clear in 2016 Had blood tests and hospital lost results. Sent me a letter in 2017 to say I had hpylori so had the treatment and everything seemed a bit better.

3 months after that the pain has came back with a vengeance. New GP was awful just said it was ibs... I asked for a retest of hpylori which came back clear.

In January this year I had bad bloating and fullness and heartburn. GP gave me lansoprazol. Today I’m sitting here with stabbing pain in my ovaries, big ass bloated tummy and I’m full to the brim even though I’ve eaten just a yogurt Sad

I’m sick of it. I don’t know if it’s an issue with my ovaries or my gut. If I think of it I had a ruptured cyst years ago but GP wasn’t concerned.

I’m sick of pain in my hips and my legs and pain in pelvis but the GP doesn’t seem bothered. What else can I do? Or ask for?

Op Can l suggest something different to the medical route?

Look up the Bionetics website, it works on a full diagnosis of your hair route, (you fill in a comprehensive form, selotape 3 hairs plucked from your head with the root attached) and pay £50, send the form and hair back, within a week you have a health diagnosis and recommended supplements/food allergies/natural remedies.

A few years ago l had serious stomach discomforts, and pain at night, and every medical investigation possible with no result. It went on for a year.

I did the Bionetics test, made some adjustments to my diet to avoid foods flagged as allergic/sensitive, bought the recommended supplements, and my syptoms were gone in a fortnight, and have not returned.

It is often successful when other routes have failed.

should have read 'hair root'

Please get an abdo ultrasound and ask for a referral to a gynaecologist. Also ask for a Ca19-9 CA125 market tests. These look for a marker that is raised in ovarian cancer.

I had an ultrasound 2 weeks ago so need to chase up my results. If that comes back clear then I shall scratch my head Hmm

My friend had similar issues, over a year of various tests and scans for assumed stomach/bowel issues. Turns out it was an ovarian cyst, only found when it finally ruptured and she collapsed.

I have had IBS for over 12yrs.
Last Year my symptoms changed and I was in constant pain for months and months-I became very worried and was back and forth at the Docs pushing for tests.....You really do have to push them for more and not give in.
It took me months to get a Doctor to agree to a Colonoscopy(in hindsight they knew best as my test was clear-but for MY peace of mind I needed it-plus scared myself silly with all the "Docs didn't find my Cancer in time" stories all over the Internet)I also had lots of other tests and am now fairly confident that it is IBS and nothing more.
I still suffer-some days as soon as I eat anything!
I would ask for some of the tests you have not already had and hope you get to the bottom of it.
Once you can stop wondering you will find things do improve.(if it is IBS)
Just so you can tick em off I had-
Endoscopy
Colonoscopy
H pylori Test
Celiac test
Calprotein test
Full Bloods
FIT test(for blood in stools-had to pay for this myself)
Ultrasound(ab and pelvis)
CT Scan

Squidge2015 · 31/03/2018 18:49

just to say I have the exact same problem.

Acid reflux since LO was born. taking lansoprazole but doesn't always work. Had h pylori and came back clear. transabdominal ultrasound says it wasn't to do with my ovaries even though the pain feels as though it is in the right ovary area on pressing. thyroid is normal and I had my appendix removed 2 years ago so can't be that. I'm at a loss and worried it is something not getting picked up. pretty much the exact same symptoms you have tbh

Rubyritz · 03/04/2018 19:57

Update

So went to the gp who pressed the area so hard I cried sent me to hospital with suspected appendicitis.

Hospital doesn’t think it’s that but have raised white and red blood cells. Scan tomorrow to have a look.

Pain is constantly on right side and all down my leg Sad

My sister was in similar discomfort to you last year, was told IBS (which she does already have) but it actually turned out to be a large ovarian cyst which was caused by endometriosis (which she didn’t know she suffered from).

Twoweekcruise · 03/04/2018 22:19

BTW, if it does turn out to be IBS, I really recommend the low fodmap diet, I have had IBS for 18 years, it’s ruled my life but the low fodmap diet, although tough and not a miracle cure, has really helped.

TinySnowBuddy · 03/04/2018 22:30

I have severe endometriosis and lots of this sounds very consistent with it. The hip and leg pain especially when I have a cyst. The pain is really sharp in my hips then dull and burning in my legs and pelvis.

OurMiracle1106 · 03/04/2018 22:38

I know exactly how you feel. 12 years of fighting for a diagnosis I was also diagnosed with IBS initially then poly cystic ovaries then it appeared my right one has split into 2 and finally endometriosis.

It was a relief after the diagnostic laparoscopy to have endometriosis diagnosed. I now use a tens machine which cost £30 from Superdrug. I’m off all pain killers on a healthy balanced diet and go gym 5/6 times a week. Before it just wasn’t possible. I physically couldn’t get up until the pain relief kicked in.

I still suffer from time to time but it’s not every day. I was at the point if wanted a radical hysterectomy as I couldn’t manage the pain

notapizzaeater · 03/04/2018 22:46

My dh was in hospital for a long time whilst doctors argued about appendix! Turns out it was ....

Rubyritz · 05/04/2018 09:00

So had my
Appendix out.... dr said it wasn’t that.

They’ve kept my ovaries in so I’m not sure what it was until they come round a look.

If it was nothing I’ll be godbsmacked and lost for words.
