I had a baby about 8 months ago, I’m fit and strong, healthy weight range etc etc. Been struggling with pelvic floor (peeing myself when skipping etc) and also tampons just not working.

I noticed the other day that things don’t feel “right” down there, took a picture and it looks weird. Totally different ho it used to (to be expected) but like there’s a wall of flesh just inside the opening.

I don’t have any pain with sex or tampons (even though they don’t really work) but wondering if this is normal or should I see the gp?

Pretty full on picture but happy to post it if anyone thinks it relevant and can advise?

You've probably got a prolapse.
I've got the same.
Definitely go see your GP they'll be able to advise and help

Would it be worth asking for a referral to a gynaecologist? I wouldn't post the picture if I were you.

Tmgc123 · 30/03/2018 12:36

Ok I won’t 🙈

Thank you @bexleyrae... was it tough to sort out?

Mine is only mild so I haven't had any real treatment. I'm only affected by not being able to use tampons, but I try to keep up pelvic floor exercises to stop it getting worse. But the gp did say if my bladder was affected then the treatment would start with some physio

Ok fantastic thank you. I’ll give them a call next week to see if I can get seen.

Wasn’t sure if this was normal, but as I’ve never been checked since birth (like most women!) better to be safe than sorry. Thanks guys!

I'd just add that you should be careful how you exercise until you've seen the physio. Skipping, for example, might not be advisable at the moment - anything which forces the pelvic floor down suddenly can be damaging.

Meanwhile, there's an NHS app called Squeezy which you might find useful for timing pelvic floor exercises properly.

Thank you I’ll have a look at the app! Yep won’t be skipping or jumping etc!! :)
