Needing to pee constantly!!!

Hi, very recently, starting about two days ago I have a terrible urge to pee all the time but nothing comes out. It slightly feels like pressure or pushing but never hurts or stings. I am positive I do not have any sexual diseases as me and my partner are happy to get checked out and are content. I pee normally the average amount a day but even a couple of seconds after urinating I need another one but my bladder is empty? It's really confusing and noone i know has experienced this... Any ideas before i go to my doctors appointment on monday:(

Could be overactive bladder my friend had it and was put on some meds that fixed the problem. But docs will sort it. I love her but her need for the toilet really limited us for a while, she would go before we left the house then whenever we got somewhere she had to go straight to the toilet .

Bless her, I'm sure it must have been awful. I know how irritating it is. I'm the same as her, I go out for 5 minutes and i have to drive back home or to a public toilet now.

Sounds like a bladder infection/cystitis to me. I've had it a few times where it wasn't painful really, I just needed to pee all the time and nothing much came out. If you ignore it, it probably will become painful though!

If you can't see a GP - and you probably can't, given it's about to be a Bank Hol weekend - the following has usually cleared mine up without need for antibiotics:

  • Drink a full pint of water with a teaspoon of Bicarb mixed in NOW.
  • Then drink a half point of water every half hour or so for the next few hours and keep drinking loads til you are better. Sounds counterintuitive, but that alone can flush the bacteria out before things progress.
  • Don't drink barley water/supermarket cranberry juice or anything like that as the sugar feeds the bacteria.
  • If that fails to help, pharmacies/supermarkets sell sachets of cystitis remedies that can work brilliantly. Complete the full course even if you feel better quickly.

If you have lower pain pain, temperature, feel nauseous or rotten generally, it may have spread to your kidneys. This is more pressing as you will need antibiotics asap before kidney damage ensues. Seek help at Out of Hours/Walk in Clinic if this happens over the weekend.

Generally though, drinking pints and pints of water with a bit of bicarb mixed in at the start will clear things up for me within a few hours/a day.

Meant to say if you can't see a GP before Monday but missed a bit out, sorry.
