this might seem really thick to be asking this, but how long is a cough supposed to go on before it is some sort of lung infection or whatever?? had very bad sore throat 6 weeks ago and better but if get sonething more than liquid in throat that tickles a little (very hot Tesco's Salsa) am almost coughing up tonsils and nearly throwing up (sorry to be graphic) not that bad but there have been incidences where I have just avoided coughing at work and swallowed as too embarassed to be making so much noise (seems like a fuss over nothing I know but have never had a cough like it and coughing isn't normal coughing) if anyobe has any experience of any sorts I'd be extremely grateful to hear from you thanks Lavenderxxx

I had a cough that lasted weeks not long after I returned to work after ds was born. I eventually went to the doctors and he asked me if the cough woke me up at night. I said no. He then said it probably wasn't anything then more likely stress induced and when I suppressed the coughing it became less and less

Talking dd(3.5) to the docs tommorow as shes had a cough that doesnt semm to be leaving and her energy levels are down.

My mum has a cough that sounds just like yours lavender - she went to the doctor today about it, and the doc said immediately that it is hayfever, and that the pollen count has been at an all time high this year, and along with the humidity it's causing many people to have this type of cough, even people (like my mum) who don't normally suffer from hayfever. So it may be worth trying a non drowsy anti histamine like clarityn.

Took my dd off to the docs this morning, and doc said her chest sounded really noisy and she got sent off to hospital for an Xray and was given antibiotics. Had a look at her xray and the right( to me )side looked like a big cloud and the left, said the xray person was patchy. Any one direct me somewhere to look at good and not so good Xrays?
